About Wayferry

ERP replacement decisions grounded in your business goals

When an aging ERP makes it harder to grow, serve customers, or run the business effectively, replacing it can become a strategic necessity. But buying new software does not, by itself, resolve those constraints.

Wayferry helps executives decide whether replacement is justified, define what the business needs, and select an ERP against clear, prioritized requirements. We also help carry those requirements through purchase negotiation and implementation oversight, keeping the work focused on the business outcomes behind the investment.

Our primary focus is ERP replacement for manufacturing, distribution, and professional services companies.

Why we built Wayferry

Our founder, Chris Doig, experienced enterprise software selection challenges firsthand in corporate technology and IT leadership roles. He saw how easily important purchases could proceed without a sufficiently clear understanding of what the business required.

Wayferry was founded to make those decisions more rigorous.

We start with business goals and examine the processes needed to achieve them. We identify where the current system constrains performance and translate business needs into requirements that can be evaluated and tested.

That includes understanding the distinctive processes that help your company compete. Those capabilities deserve careful consideration before adopting a new system’s standard way of working.

Accumulated expertise applied to your business

Our experience is captured in the Wayferry Navigator, a proprietary application with a library of approximately 10,000 business requirements.

The Navigator helps us uncover overlooked needs, compare how well competing products meet requirements, structure vendor demonstrations, and generate user acceptance tests.

Your team builds on an established body of knowledge, with the requirements tailored and prioritized for your business. The same requirements provide a thread from initial evaluation through testing, helping you check whether what was promised has been delivered.

Independent advice, paid for by you

Wayferry is paid only by its clients. We do not sell, implement, or support software, and we accept no commissions or payments from software vendors or implementation partners.

Our recommendations are based on your business needs. That includes advising you to keep the current ERP when replacement is not justified.

When we provide implementation oversight, we represent your interests: helping manage scope, verify vendor commitments, and assess readiness against agreed requirements.

A clear starting point

You do not need to commit to an ERP selection project to work with us.

Our standalone, fixed-fee ERP Replacement Decision Assessment examines your business goals, current ERP constraints, and the value, costs, and risks of replacement. It produces a Decision Brief recommending one of four outcomes:

  • Keep the current ERP.

  • Replace later.

  • Prepare before replacing.

  • Proceed now.

The assessment does not obligate you to commission further work. If you decide to proceed, a separate engagement takes you through requirements, evaluation, selection, and purchase negotiation, with implementation oversight available afterward.

Beyond ERP

ERP replacement is our specialty. We also apply our business requirements and evaluation approach to other enterprise software replacement decisions where operational fit, integration, and purchase risk demand careful analysis.
